Hi, I’m Shelby. I’m a therapist, trauma-informed yoga teacher, and the heart behind Intuitive Mind & Body Counseling.

 

I didn’t end up in this work by accident - I know what it’s like to struggle. I grew up in a family where mental health issues were always present, and later in life I faced my own challenges with chronic illness. For a long time, I felt weighed down by pain, patterns, and emotions that I didn’t know how to carry. Healing for me wasn’t a straight line, but those experiences taught me how deeply our minds and bodies are connected—and how much we all need a safe space to be held for us.

 

That’s what I try to create here: a space that feels safe, warm, and supportive. I work with women who are ready to untangle old patterns, reconnect with their bodies, and start releasing the things that keep them stuck. My approach is holistic and somatic, which means we don’t just “talk about it” - we listen to your body, and let it guide the process of transforming.

 

I’ve worked in all kinds of places: nonprofits (National Alliance on Mental Illness), crisis hotlines (Crisis Text Line), inpatient psych hospitals, even with equine therapy supporting Veterans - but what lights me up most is working one-on-one with women like you, helping you reconnect with your inner wisdom and strength.

Inner Child Healing

Inner child work is an approach to recognizing and healing childhood trauma. It recognizes that our behaviors as an adult stem from our childhood experiences. Inner child work focuses on addressing our unmet needs by reparenting ourselves and letting go of past events.

Trauma Healing

Trauma looks different for everybody. Identify triggers, negative core beliefs, and trauma responses in relation to past events. Become aware of intrusive or irrational thoughts, and gain the skills to challenge them in real time.
